During a lecture at uni I found a shiny graveller in Y and almost exclaimed in shock and I was in the front row.

Just weeks later I found a shiny psyduck in a horde while EV training

>Go fishing at Battle Resort
>Catch a Remoraid
>Make sure it has Hustle
>Evolve it into Octillery
>Go to Sea Mauville
>Catch the Spiritomb
>Take its Smoke Ball and make Octillery hold it
>Put Octillery in the front of your party
>Go to any body of water and start fishing
>Run from every Pokemon you pull up
>DON'T MOVE FROM THAT SPOT AND KEEP FISHING

Right, I don't know why people bitch about not finding shinies. DexNav chaining can also net you a couple shinies if you spend 3-4 hours doing it. I think most of the people that complain spend 15 minutes looking and get pissed when they don't immediately find one.

In Gold I found a shiny Koffing and a shiny Magmar. Both in the Burned Tower. In HeartGold I found a shiny Krabby on the seafoam islands. I don't recall any other shinies.

My first shiny was a meditate in Y. The funny thing is that I asked my older brother,who doesn't really play, to play until he finds an axew cuz I needed to use the bathroom, and he encountered the shiny. I gave it to him. A week later and I found a shiny Geodude so I kept it and I plan to use it.
