it's actually good for pokemon that use skill swap to give this ability to other mons.

Ill Temper: Single target status moves will also act as physical attacks with 40 base power. They also bypass certain moves that check for status moves, such as Taunt or Sucker Punch.

As a check, it probably wouldn't bypass Substitute unless it modifies a sound-based move.

Functions differently depending on battle type.

All moves are 25% more likely to miss, but any secondary effects will always activate if a hit was made.
>Doubles/Triples/Hordes
All single-target moves hit every opponent EXCEPT that which was originally targeted. Multi-target moves function the same as in Singles: higher chance to miss but perfect proc.

Singles style has niche appeal as a way of procing status, and Multi style is extremely useful for catching in hordes and may find use in Triples.

The appeal is mainly the benefit for catching in Hordes. Put it on something with Sweet Scent, ideally.

Would be put on Mushroom Pokémon like Paras and Amoongus, and a hidden ability for Durant
Wouldn't be too unbalancing because I doubt any draining moves would be all that effective on these Pokémon because of their typing

Well, it has a 25% chance to miss, so really only 75% for status, 85% with Wide Lens, which may actually be worthwhile on this mon.

But yeah, it'd get used. The procs would be bonkers. Except that it gets none of the punches or Scald, because GF would fuck up even this.

I always thought Mega Shedninja should get an ability like

Mega Shedninja would just drop the bug type and become a pure ghost, using its old body to absorb attacks.

Jesus fuck, all of my want, just for the lore aspect. God damn.

As for the gameplay, it at least get one turn to do something before it dies to weather, and the opponent needing something that's super effective against pure Bug AND something for pure Ghost means there'll be very few who can hit both. I need that shit. God damn.
