The only time there was no older pokemon was Gen 5 and it was fucking garbage
Hopefully it will be a clever mix of mostly new pokemon and some older ones like in Hoenn and Sinnoh

There have never been so many in a gen, and it certainly wont happen now that GF has stated to reduce the number of new mon per gen in order to avoid reaching the cap of the 1000th too fast

Don't lose hope. Black and White featured many old pokemon even though the dex was 100% new.

Alola might be like Kalos in regards that it has great touristic appeal. The Slowpoke is next to a lady in a swimsuit, maybe she's a tourist from Kanto.

The big Pokedex was probably the only thing about X/Y I actually did like.

I really hope you mean Platinum. DP remains the worst regional dex.

I'm kind of wondering if this is going to be a fill-the-blanks generation like 4 was, with a handful of new pokemon (probably fewer than ever since they're on full pander mode) and a larger amount of new evolutions/babies/megas.
