Even then if Great Britain were to get the US copy, there's still the fact that it has to be rebranded with Pegi's shit. Which means an entirely separate production unit anyways. Which means more time. If the UK adopted the ESRB and ditched Pegi, then yeah it would probably be free game. But then that would also mean Nintendo would have to change the 3DS into region free, because UK 3DS's are EU and any small change to the game would mean a separate production unit, even for logos..
Ultimately, 5 days probably isn't that big of a deal to change national governments and corporate policy.
