Sinnoh in general was fucking awful, honestly. Probably the worst overworld navigation in any Pokemon game and it didn't help that nearly every town/route in the region looked awfully boring and generic except for maybe the snow routes.

Sinnohfetuses are also even worse than Hoennbabbies.

Kanto is technically the worst region but Sinnoh and Kalos are definitely tied for second-worst.

Johto and Unova are the best.

If we're talking gameplay

Kanto > Unova 2 > Sinnoh >= Hoenn > Kalos > Unova 1 > Johto

If we're talking about aesthetics and background as a setting and shit it's totally up for debate but I like Johto the most and Kanto the least.

Explain, those are like the polar opposite in terms of gameplay. Kanto has good elaborate route design and openness, but lacks stuff to do after completing the game. Unova 2 has a lot to do, but as with Unova 1 the routes are very straight forward and progression linear.

Kanto is shit. There's next to no variety in the game. All of the routes are not even memorable and the cities are all the same. FrLg had to add the Sevii Islands to make the game more interesting, but genwunners shit on it despite being an amazing addition to the game.

Unova 2 is definitely at the top though. But it also feels more overwhelming.

kalos really ravages your asshole with its need to be CINEMATIC 3D prioritised over efficiency and usability. it's amazing the first time but after that everything becomes one massive chore.

Johto has near perfect pacing between the cities though. Unova routes are overly short and Hoenn routes are overly long.

Most of Johto's routes are smaller than Unova's. The difference is that it has multiple routes between cities, and most of them feel tiny because they have fuck all trainers to battle.
