The whole reason GF thrust Megas down our throat the past four years, the premise behind them focusing Alpha/Omega's trailers exclusively not on new gameplay features but on Mega transformations, the point of that entire fucking anime special based off Megas, was because GF planned to completely erase all evidence of the sole marketable feature keeping Pokemon alive in today's industry!
