Agreed. This is shaping up to be a good gen. Good designs are the most important thing in a Pokémon game and most Kalos mons were shit.

anyway seriously though, I feel objectively that calling new gen mons as "gen 1 feel" is an insult, not because of subjective crap like "goodness of designs" and such, but because it means they're not taking advantage of the modern technology they have

like look at tyrantum? it cannot be a gen 1 mon by virtue of those smaller details like the scale gradient color or the smaller details like the hexagon

Gen V had the most Gen I designs in the past 3 gens. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are rejected concepts from gen 1-2.

I love Litten but there's no way it would have fit into Gen 1. It's definitely a newer gen Pokemon.

In fact, none of these look like Gen 1 pokemon, maybe Rowlett at a push. The rest have that Gen V onwards look, except maybe Grubbin, which looks about Gen IV.

I like most of them, too. I'd say it has a "Gen 1 feel" because most of these aren't too over-designed and because they don't have ridiculous animesenpaidesubakawaifu body proportions like in BW

I know we already have one bug/electric but I'm always down for more bug types and anything that isn't bug/grass or bug/poison is a big plus in my book.

I really love these designs so far, the soft color palettes are very nice. The only design I'm kind of iffy about is Yungoos, but I guess it'll grow on me sooner or later.
