>>26789761I'm normally a proponent for the majority of pokemon being designed amazingly well, but there are actually a couple here that I agree with.
>Elemental monkeysI think the elemental monkeys are all extremely weak designs. Very contrived, ham-handed, clearly only serve an existance for a game mechanic with little thought put into them beyond that. They're weirdly bulbous and all have a really awkward center of gravity.
>Cobalion and Keldeo They are pretty weak too, not as bad, but they give off very strange, random visual impressions. Cobalion in particular has these weird things hanging off of it that seem to contradict the rest of it's design, and it's rounded hooves make it look like it's wearing boots. Keldeo's alternate form is a lot better, but it's main form is very frail, weak and sickly looking which doesn't exactly make much sense given it's power and lore. Also more subjectively, it's whole hoove firing water thing is one of those idea that the design team had that falls under "yeah, it works, but is it really a good idea?".
A couple other designs here are fine but have a couple flaws that simple fixes would greatly improve them.
>ChesnaughtNot terrible, but a couple changes here and there would help the design out a LOT. I actually did a few minor changes to it, by shortening it's legs, taking away some of the stripes, and adding ears, and I think it looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself.
>RhyperiorA matter of proportions. Shifting that around, I bet you could find one that looks great. Main issue is that Rhydon was already a pretty solid design, and they tried to go a different way with it, seemingly without having a solid idea of what they wanted
>DruddigonLiterally, I think if they just made the Blue to Red transition from it's body to head a gradient, it'd look fucking perfect. Real life lizards have that striking red head on blue body, and it looks great.
