You also overlook that the development of the Oracle series cannibalized its third "courage" entry. This was partly because Capcom's Flagship started with story concepts and mythos, and then expanded to gameplay.
The result was devs constantly resizing the maps to better fit the screen, because they had all these ambitious concepts to fit into the world.
