They seem to have a greater variation this time around though. I dont think Wailord and other mega large mons will be accurate, but they might break out of that "4 sizes" template that they had before. Grubbin, for instance, was extremely small compared to the starters. I'm thinking that they might have more "templates", icluding a super large one. Not necessarily accurate, but less laughable.
