But while there are certain limits on free speech, mere "offensive speech" is not one of them, and absent a constitutional amendment or a completely unforeseeable change in First Amendment jurisprudence, there's literally no chance of those sorts of restrictions being allowed. Put simply, the government cannot and never will be able to restrict the kind of speech you're talking about. Any discouragement of that sort of speech will be from private citizens and companies, which again, is far less of a problem. That's how a free market democracy should work - the people decide (and can un-decide) that we don't want that sort of speech, not the government, and it's reflected through protests and product choices, not through jail time.
