Later on get good at chaining, just random stuff, Phanpy, Larvitar and stuff...take a while away from Pokemon, come back to it, want to chain again, want to chain something easy...Zigzagoon. Heading to my centre reset spot, haven't super repeled yet...step on to centre square and encounter wild Pokemon...just think ah ffs, auto pilot hit run away, realise it was a random encounter Zigzagoon shiny...and I ran...4 hours later, chaining till 3am...got a shiny Zigzagoon through chaining and righted that wrong!!
TL;DR...bad luck, good luck...you make your own luck sometimes
