Popularity does not confirm that the most hated pokemon are actually hated, because there ARE people who pick their favorite pokemon but legitimately to not have any disdain for its alternative counter parts, they simply don't have as much interest in them, but people sure like to regard the pokemon with the least votes automatically as the most hated. Even the most hated HAD some votes backing them up, otherwise, they wouldn't be in certain spots in that fucking top poll. Even being the least voted final evolution starter, he still has some votes backing him up.
He's not actually hated and if he is, it's probably by a very vocal minority, he just so happens to be the most FORGOTTEN starter evolution, the one people had the least interest in, probably due to its typing or not being fond of its design overall and probably never even picked him for a playthrough.
