Dentiny Knot picks 5 IVs from both parents, it an pick the two imperfect IVs and give you an imperfect as a spare

Destiny Knot takes 5 randomly picked stats from the parents. Those unlucky eggs simply took the only two sub-par stats from the entire breeding setup, resulting in untermenschen children.

That's actually impossible though.

If you're breeding a 5IV and a 6IV mon, at worst, the Destiny Knot will take the imperfect IV and will generate another imperfect one. So 4IVs at 31 and the others at random.

You're right about that the Destiny Knot takes the IVs at random, but it's always 5 from either parent.

Not sure how your getting 3 IVs at 31 unless one of the parents doesn't have 5 IVs. Id double check that.
You are playing XY ORAS right? those are the only versions that let destiny bond send 5 IVs

Disregard this, I read it wrong.
The Destiny Knot is taking both imperfect IVs and also generating a third imperfect one.

You should breed with two Mons with the same 5 perfect IVs to avoid that.

It depends on the amount of perfect IVs shared.

For example, if two 4IV parents have 3 IVs in common, the worst case scenario is a 2IV baby.

I'm guessing your 5IV parents only have 4 in common.
