>>26850859Trust me I know. It's also just plain easier to draw. It's the Family Guy effect. They were the first ones to start this round, monotone style, at least in 'western' animation. It proved to be cheap and everyone liked it. Using the Power Puff reboot as an example again, they use that style and outsource the animating so cheaply that the errors are so blatantly obvious it's ridiculous.
Normally I wouldn't ever tell anyone to waste their time on /co/umblr, but there's often an animation error thread and since the PPGs reboot is by far the worst offender in recent history you can see a lot of it.
Anyway it seems like something exactly like this has happened to Jap animation and has even extended to video games.
