In Gen 6 an Aerodactyl was both unnecessary and not so hard, keeping the fossils that got a movepool upgrade through gens would have been better.
Also fuck the decision to not give back Earthquake to Steven Stone's Metagross in both first battle and rematch, the champion's ace having Hyper Beam and Giga Impact is a very stupid tradition, especially on said Metagross that paried with Meteor Mash and mixed Psychic was a pain to deal with.
Why would he even need Aerodactyl when it is already one of Lance signature Pokemon in Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3, he does also have Skarmory as signature flying Pokemon.
They clearly tried to give it a somewhat of Fire resist but this Aerodactyl cannot even seriously damage Blaziken and its eventual mega, pretty sure Armaldo would have done more while Cradily would have been a decent answer for the Swampert users.
