Considering you could only play as Red in gen 1 it made sense to fight him. I doubt gamefreak would risk alienating anyone who played as a female character in gen 6. Also, why do people think we're going back to Kalos?

Calem wasn't able to get all of the starters, though. There was never a game that explained it. For Red there was (Yellow).

I feel like he would probably have Aegislash on his team, though. IMO it should be only Kalos Pokemon

The kanto starter should be the mega, though. Most iconic pokemon associated with him outside of the Kalos starters. I think something like Greninja/M-Charizard/Snorlax/Lucario/Sylveon/something else would make the most sense.

The only protagonists who deserve to be rebattled are RB's and BW's. BW mimicked Gen 1 and B2W2 mimicked Gen 2 in many ways, it really would have worked out.
