I really grew to like his design, but it kills me that he's not real. I guess I'm anxious because I keep figuring out ways on how Game Freak will completely screw up Popplio's final evolution when after seeing Ballio, Pinnister or whatever, I'd legitimately pick something like him if I could, but chances are, they'll make something that'll make me regret liking little Popplio as a whole when I don't want to.
I guess it's the whole concept of a sea lion clown that does bubble and water shows despite its typing and appearance that kind of interests me. Not saying the mermaid one isn't cool or anything, but while it does look elegant... It doesn't really look like it has much for her? It looks like she can sing, but that already seems like something so many pokemon can do. Asides from that, I guess she could act like a acrobat on top of bubbles, I guess. Her design seems so complicated, it's hard envisioning her doing something. I'm still trying to figure out where the veil and the hair part came from as well as the starfishes. There's just so many details that appear in her that obviously aren't there in Popplio's design, which is a head scratcher.
