Seriously, getting less than 80 would be fucking idiotic, but around 90 would probably be a good number. Getting more than that would be an added bonus, and besides, if the revealed designs are anything to go by then we can expect some good quality from the rest.

Look, gen 6 had 70 pokémon and everyone collectively lost their shit, but I'm fine with it. They need to cut back on the amount of new mons they make because there are so many now.
We already know S/M will feature an abundance of old Pokémon, so I don't see them adding a ton, even if "Life" is supposed to be the theme of Alola.

I hope they never have as few as ever Kalos again, but I also wouldn't be that upset. I'd like 90ish new mons in S/M, that's all I want. If however they add even slightly more than 100, that would be enough to appease the fans.

But DEMANDING that they shill out 120+ new ones is greedy and indicative of a spoiled personality. One should not take the high number of new mons in past generations for granted.

Gen V had some pretty bad Pokémon, but not any more than Gen IV or Gen VI had, despite their differences in Pokémon amount. So, I want big numbers for maximum gameplay potential and Pokédex hunting.

As for megas, I guess around one PC box will do, so 30. Preferably Johto starter megas and Unova/Kalos megas.

Not trying to be a contrarian or anything, but before gen VI release /vp/ always shat on gen V. After gen VI came out everyone suddenly changed opinions and gen V became the best gen ever. Of course everyone shits on the games that are still current. What the fuck do you expect from the kind of people that browses 4chan? It is only after a new Gen has come out that the true general opinion about a game shows. Gen V is heavily liked, Gen III is heavily disliked, and Gen IV is considered mediocre, bar the music that everyone seems to love. Gen II seems to be better than Gen III, too. We'll just have to wait and see what the end opinion on Gen VI will be when it's no longer current. But Gen V? It'll stay the favourite for a long time still.

Same can be said about being fine with around 90 new Pokemon. There is no added benefit in getting a shit ton more Pokemon, since most designs get shit on anyways and the more there are the more flack the gen will get in terms of design, even if they are all fine.

I would like as many pokemon as they can feasibly make wit those pokemon actually being cool and good (so far they all are except fucking magearna, that thing looks awful.)

IF it were up to me, there would be between 80 and 120 new pokemon.Megas don't matter to me, but just for completeness sake, how about 19? One for the gen 2, 4, 5 , 6, and 7 starters as well as Dragonite, Hydreigon, Goodra, and whatever the gen-7 pseudo-legend is (hopefully not a dragon or flying type, If I had my way it would be mono-steel or a dual-type Poison, maybe Poison/Ground or Poison/Psychic, those could be fun)

Actually, I don't think any of the box legends have ever been bad. The only one I ever thought looked stupid was Snake-Giratina but it grew on me after a while and now I really like it.

What's wrong with liking both pokemon and digimon? Pokemnon have looked like digimon since gen 4 and 5, looking iek digimon is nothing new. I remember seeing Dialga and Conkeldurr and thinking "Those look like
champion and Ultimate forms more than actual evolutions". It just never bothered me much.

70 is plenty of Pokemon, the problem with Gen VI was that: A) a lot of the new Pokemon sucked and B) they showed way too many of the new Pokemon before launch.

There are enough Pokemon now that each new region doesn't have to be a full frontal assault of new Pokemon. If anything I like the idea of them cutting back on the total amount because it SHOULD allow them to focus on the designs and make the Pokemon they add really good. If this was the case for Gen VI it would have been better received.

I don't know why 100+ is some sort of holy grail for people, there's no need for that many. Especially since Gens IV and V partially achieved their total counts by flooding the games with tons of arbitrary, unnecessary legendaries.
