This. The guys at Game Freak have definitely seen that Talonflame is everywhere, whether it's VGC or Battle Spot or fan metas or whatever, so they wanted to create something that counters the hell out of it.

Also if it's bulky hope that thing gets an amazing movepool, bulky waters aren't exactly scarce and there are many top tier alternatives.

Has anyone thought that yeah, it affects priority moves, but Brave Bird is not a priority move?
It gets transformed into one by Gale Wings but it's not one naturally, so i have this doubt right now.

In the reveal vid Lipfishe's ability didn't just cancel out the priority effect, Pikachu literally could not use quick attack and lost its turn. It cancels out the use of a priority move period
