>>26934712I dunno man, XY managed to get me pre-release, the big jump to 3D, Megas (which I was super weary of conceptually but it was definitely interesting at least), riding Pokémon (one of which could jump over LEDGES!), etc.
The 3D ended up being underwhelming, riding Pokémon were only in a couple spots and anything that wasn't Gogoat sucked, and half of all Megas were given to Pokémon that were already good enough without them and they seemingly killed cross-gen evolution forever, Sylveon doesn't count, but at the time it seemed like something to be hyped over.
Meanwhile, I still haven't seen anything I liked with S&M that isn't graphics or new Pokémon design. If anything they're going out of their way to show me shit I don't like, like the type effectiveness hint crap. If they don't show me something gameplay-related to soothe my fears that these games will make XY look like Platinum, I cannot in the slightest get hype for them.
