The problem is that Blastoise and Ludicolo are Tierno's pokémon, not Alan's.

Why would they diminish his potential victory like that? Couldn't they simply make him train his pokémon and make them stronger, like, you know, he was doing during the entirety of XY until memefrog happened? Now he's literally another Tobias.

After 17 years watching this shit, seeing him coming so close to win the league (and maybe even winning it) just because one of his pokémon got a broken alt form is pretty damn unsatisfying.

Well they have never used Shudo's ideas completely, and only a part of it doesn't really work, it just leads to extremely strange stuff. I'm pretty sure they've been ignoring all of that since at least gen3.

He doesn't have Blastoise or Ludicolo. We clearly saw Mega Charizard X one shot Trevor's Mega Charizard Y, Aerodactyl, and Florges. It's an error, Ludicolo and Blastoise are supposed to be on next episodes screen for Tierno vs Sawyer

Do we know if Charizard is Alan's last pokémon during his battle against Ash-Greninja? I could see a double knockout happening between the two, like Pikachu and Latios in Sinnoh, but with Alan winning because he still had one more pokémon.
