I work 40 hour (minimum) work weeks.
All my colleagues at work worry about either Football or Basketball, work on their fantasy league stuff, but will be repulsed when they find out that I play a game about making a roster of monsters that fight other people's monsters.
I don't even get to play during the weekdays, I have to play on the weekends because I'm way too busy, so I'll never have the practice and experience required to compete in the not-kids division.
Simply put, I'm just too old, and too late to join in without seeming like a weirdo.
Maybe if I had parental support, I would have been able to compete in VGC years ago, but it's just too late for me now.
