I think you can't flat out avoid a subject being sullied when some tard already did it, like comparing consoles on /v/, people will already assume the worse. At most you can avoid threads with obvious copypastas or that the OP's is too obviously a bait, like when he uses that pic.
When the old archive was around you could find a fuckton of threads with that same pic, and they all sounded the same, or like OP started tame and became shitpost the following post.
I just don't think it's worse to "keep" them no matter what because this goes against the very concept of an image board: Everything here is meant to be temporary anyway, bump limits and all, unlike a forum that keeps the same thread with many pages for years.
