Electric Rodents every gen are cool and all... But I wish they would've continued with what they did with gen 2 and changed the type.

Pikachu > Marill > Fire Rodent > Grass Rodent > etc etc

I always thought it was something to do with new mechanics introduced.
Pichu - baby evolution
Plusle and Minun - Double Battles
Pachirisu - idk.. Amity Square (?)
Pacharisu - sky battles? Or was that not till Gen VI I forget.

I wish some of the pikaclones got some evolutions. Like, Emolga could have been Pachirisu's evolution easily if it weren't for Gen V shenanigans.

Explain what? It simply isn't a pikaclone. Not electric type. No cheek pouches. Can't get access to nuzzle. Not on the XY wallpaper that has all the pikaclones on it. You may as well call Mincinno a pikaclone with this logic.

Pichu is the "pikaclone" of gen 2. They didn't need to do another one because Pichu is already similar enough.
