They are barebones, shallow and pointless games that are just filler until SM.
They lack any meaningful content and are worse than the games before them.

I agree. When I played Y for the first time I really liked it. Then I wanted to do a nuzlocke and midgame I realized I wasn't enjoying it as much as the first time.
I'm currently playing OR for the first time and I'm really liking it so far.

The fact that they came after HGSS, Platinum, and BW/2 made it hard to swallow with how mediocre XY was.
