I was walking all the way to Wal-Mart and back (pic above) and my "nearby" mon never changed. Their steps, the order of appearance, nothing.
At this point in thinking this is just some scam to get people outside.
i did manage to get liquor and soda at the Wal-Mart, though, so not a completely wasted trip
