X and Y are amazing for Nuzlockes do to the high variety of different pokemon in the grasses, but it has the EXP share, so a person rule is "no EXP share".
Don't like Nuzlocke rules? Make your own rules. "Once you beat a gym leader, retire your best Pokemon and cycle a weaker pokemon from your PC into the team". "No STAB moves". "No status effect moves".
It isn't hard to make the games hard with a bit of self control.
