I'm ready to drink some bleach

I went online to talk to play some games with friends, and then one of them yells:

"Oh? What's that pokemon over there?-"
"Oh? EW. ITS THAT ONE POKEMON THAT'S JUST A COPY OF PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES"

My heart almost gave out. Do people actually think and act like this? Is this the norm? Dear god I don't want to play this game again.
