Gen 1 is the worst. There's no doubt about it.

But we like Gen 1, not because the story line is great, or the Pokemon are fantastic.
Hell, the story was pants, and most of the Pokemon are dumb.

We like gen 1 because it's the first gen we played. I love Gen 1, because I have very fond memories of the game.

Gen 2 is the best though.

I don't get that mindset, seeing as you could easily visit the local zoo or watch the fucking Nature Channel. I want to explore and see Pocket MONSTERS, not animals--things I can find in real life. Mr. Mime, Jynx, etc. were cool for those very reasons. But overall Gen 1, while awesome, seems to lack the creativity of more recent gens. Most genwunners have just gotten old and stuck in their ways and don't want to admit it.

And that sucked because pokemon had a unique look about them, they were cool japanese mosters that looked different to things you see in other cartoons and animes.

Many new pokemon look like creatures from yugioh or just typical cartoon network shows.
