Nintendo is planning on making a new handheld during the next 2 years

The boost in graphics means they would have to make every poke again from scratch.

So they decide instead to re-set the franchise and only make 150 brand new mons with no backwards compatibility.

I do not think those programmers want to drag what will soon be 800+ model animations and redo them every gen.

Dude, they ALREADY boosted the graphics. You know why the XY models are so fucking laggy? Because they have a metric fuckton of polygons so they can reuse them forever. They aren't fucking redoing every model for this gen, either.
