People see the same pokemon, but you don't have to compete for them. Everyone is in their own instance if you will. For example, I went and caught a growlithe the other day and other people showed up at the same spot and caught their own growlithes.

Pokestop and Arena locations originate from "Portals" from the game Ingress. The theme of Ingress is that you are some kind of secret agent, there are Portals in the world that spew out alien energy, and there are two teams that fight 1. against 2. in favour of this alien energy. Portals in Ingress created by players of the game, they are supposed to be in public locations of cultural or spiritual interest; it simply has a darker theme to it, and people who iddn't play it don't understand why pokestops are in these places

I don't think it does. There's this park near my house with soccer, hockey, and baseball areas, surrounded by marsh, and for whatever reason that's where Electabuzz always spawns.

Another just standard park with forest and playground has has Jynx and Magmar.

Lickitung by the baseball stadium, etc. Where they're found doesn't make sense but you should go to large or famous locations to get rare pokemon. Shopping centers, parks, sports arenas, that kind of thing.

I wonder if anyone has tried playing in a zoo.

Yeah, one thing that doesn't make sense is that wild areas are worse for pokemon. I mean, I guess I get it because they want pokemon around pokestops and cities and such. But it's kinda frustrating that it's better for me to drive into the local city than go to the state park.

Discovered this fuckhuge park today with my friends, it has like 15 pokespots. And it was a real nice park too. Farmed items, caught some shit, and burned some calories.

Higher level buddy of mine won a gym or two along the way.

Honestly, this shit was such simple fun. We're all in our twenties, but seriously had a blast just cruising around town together. Part of the fun actually came with dealing with the bugs in the app. Just a damn good time I never thought I'd share with good friends.

Don't worry about the power levels of your mons till 10+ levels. Just keep grinding for mons. They'll come to you with different CP levels as you go. Keep XL mons for evolving. Evolve pidgeys and rattatta for exp then transfer them for more candies.

It was a Mystic gym that they defeated. It was right by my apartment and I hurried over to defend it when I saw it was being contestes, but I was too late.

And the Eeveelutions they installed in its place were too high a CP for me to take down (7-800, I only have pokemon at 470 right now)

I work at the strip club and play go. If I pop an incense too I get a lot more Pokemon since there's a heavier flow of phone traffic and I'm the only one playing. Caught two Dodrio's within 10 minutes of each other, yet when I use an incense at home I only get pidgeys and Doduo's.
