These aren't "stupid" people, the people who text and drive aren't "stupid" people. I mean yes they are in the context they allow themselves to do that while driving - but these people are people with degrees, qualifications, all shapes and sizes, all kinds of jobs and life experience.
The point is we are predisposed to being distracted and this is just another one, maybe most of you aren't as distracted. But all it takes is one opportunity, one mistake and you're fucked. The people who are walking get off lightly because they aren't travelling at high speeds, even though cars can hit them. But if people are walking and are having these issues, you and nobody else is exempt from being distracted either while driving.
It's not even about YOU, I couldn't care less about your punishment. You're putting the lives of other people at risk for a fucking mankey.
