>>27073942because if Pokemon succeds, everyone and their mother is going to want to invest into some sort of AR game.
remember how WoW ruined mmos forever? remember how LoL ruined mobas forever? and how many clones came up trying to get a piece of the cake by releasing a myriad of shitty low budget clones to get some hot investor money?
This games appeal to the lowest common denominator, are made with low production values and some gimmick that attracts a huge audience, they usually don't care about the long term effect, they just want a bajillion registered users and a shit ton of sales on the first months and cash out. The result will be some generic game that doesn't resemble any of the original ideas and a myriad of poorly done clones instead and casual games with ultra low entry level.
See how the RTS genre is doing, no one wants to invest time into learning an RTS anymore, mmos and a lot of other games like destiny replace content with daily quests and shit to keep you glued via mediocre repetitive content.
Problem is as some anon said, we can't do anything, we're doomed, little by little games will be some sort of casual facebook mini game with two action buttons and 10 share buttons for your twitter, youtube, twitch, google+ and hi5 accounts to farm likes, with time gated content and 200gems for $10 that skips the wait.
