How the fuck do you grind Pokemon Go? I'm stuck catching shit rattatas and doing jackshit, meanwhile ValorFags have 1000+CP rare pokemon, and my best is a 450CP Pidgeot.

As you level up, you find higher CP pokemon. I've found that challenging gyms is the easiest way to get quick XP, but if you've got Pokespots in the area, Lucky Egg + Incense + Lure + Running a circuit between them will get you fat XP pretty quickly.

Just take a day off, or wait till you have a day off. Plan on going to a park or town and walk around for a couple hours. That's how i got 9 eggs and i'm going to try to hatch them over the next couple days. Be patient. it took a few days to get me my 598 vaporeon

Best tip I've got so far; evolve

Rattata and Pidgey are numerous and evolve with, like, 25 and 12 candies (also Pidgeotto evolve at 50, which you'll probably have)

Evolving Rattata > Raticate and Pidgey > Pidgeotto give 500 exp, and (I think) Pidgeotto > Pidgeot giv 1000, but I'm probably wrong.

Don't train them. These are garbage mons, just catch them, evolve what you can, and trade the rest (both evolved and unevolved) to help the next cycle.

TLDR:

Evolve your Trash 'Mons for Exp, which helps you level, which helps you get better 'Mons and Items

It works. Spent some time at a park and went from 8-ish to 11. Not the biggest jump, mind you, but we were only out for a few hours and it jumped when I figured it out near the end

For what it's worth, the only way I've gotten Lucky Eggs is by leveling up. So once you get the ball rolling, it should get easier.

Just live in a major city, and spend all day near a Pokestop that people keep putting modules into all day so you can just sit there and catch dozens of Pokemon.

i find a place where i am in range of 2 or more pokestops, then use lures on both+incense+lucky egg

if youre in range of 2, you will have nonstop pokemon. like in the time it takes to catch one, another one appears. the only limit is how fast you can get them with your pokeballs

grinding geodudes gave me a 1100+ golem that kills cp1400 pokemon easily

im level 20 btw

Apparently traveling is stupid now. There's tons of opportunities to go out anyway. If you're in a rural area, head to town or walk around in your gigantic backyard. In urban areas, do it on errands or the bus.

Treat this game as a nice little bonus for doing things during the day, not a full-blown AAA game. It's a mobile game, for Arceus's sake.

In addition to what people have said about evolving, make sure you go to various places.

I went to a park near a college campus after having downloaded the app less than an hour before. Besides Rattata and Pidgey, I found Eevee, Dratini, Koffing, Caterpie, Weedle, Kakuna, and Staryu.

you can either farm pokestops but there's no pokestops near me so i just go to the local golfcourse with my skateboard and skate around the "wilderness", it's also nonstop pokemon, caught 28 in 40 minutes of skating (including the time for me to skate to and from the course from my house)
