The game is outsourced to Niantic and it's very different from the handheld games. There is no reason they can't do both.

They suck for actual video games.

You're gonna have to pray for Intel to stop fucking around and actually become super serious in the smartphone chip market but Intel has been pretty beta lately.

stock increases have little to do with actual revenue generated. the stock is going up because of anticipated revenue generation. the only way the game actually generates revenue is through microtransactions however and the people who are buying the stock understand little about video games.

pokemon go is not very deep at the moment. if people get tired of it in a few weeks they will stop playing without having ever made any microtransactions. the stock market doesn't really care though. the best investors are the ones who bought the stock before it increased and they will likely sell it off before it drops, making lots of money in the process. investors don't care if the game actually makes money, it is simply very high profile and the optics make it a great investment assuming they don't wait too long to sell.
