Unfortunately, while I knew EV's, I didn't know IV's or Natures, and didn't have much skill at building pokemon. Most everything had 4 attacking moves (I had figured out redundant coverage, though!). I was on the same level as "proud of its power Lucario", since I specifically bred a Tyranitar to be Brave, because I figured Brave would have the highest Attack.
999.99+ hours spent making "competitive" pokemon that were ultimately still garbage. I didn't come away empty-handed, though. While I didn't get any actually good pokemon, I still roflstomped my friends until they stopped playing pokemon with me.
God damn I was a stupid kid.
