Sure, GO introduced a lot of people into the series through its basic combat system that can meld into the one used in most main series games, but the one thing that GO has that the main series games don't is the feeling of randomness.
Short of times and general areas when and where one can find certain types of Pokemon, there's no telling what can spawn. In Sun and Moon, the entire region, Pokemon locations, and their encounter chances are entirely defined and finite. As if that wasn't enough, every player is for themselves. No teams, no cooperation, nothing of the sort other than trading, and even that is ineffective to a degree what with the obedience system.
I'm not trying to shit on Sun and Moon in any way - believe me, I'm looking forward to them just as much as everyone else on this board - but I'm just worried that the main series will falter due to conflicting natures of it and GO, plus the funds required to get involved in it.
