If you put Texas down in the middle of Europe it's larger than France or Germany, and if you put it down the right way you could go from Spain to Germany while still being inside the state's boundaries. My home state of Georgia is a little bigger than Portugal. Our climates are just as different state-to-state as your countries, and our cultures for each state vary dramatically.
