I think he's referring to how the Battle Frontier was cut of of the remakes because Masuda thought it was "too hard". More disappointing than forgotten, though.
By disappointing, I mean the fact that it's not there. I could never conquer it in Emerald, and I was hoping that I'd get a chance to redeem myself. But that day will never come now.

Well, Fire Red/Leaf Green were intended for people not familiar with games in general. I don't see what's wrong with explaining what works and how you progress, it's not like you need it, and the only times it intervenes is in the beginning battling your rival. Granted, it seems trivial to most people that have been playing since they were younger, but why shut out those who aren't familiar but like to try?
