The Palestinians have roots in the region that go back centuries, maybe millenia. They are very much related to Jews and other Levantine populations, and have ancestors that were once Jews, Christians, and Samaritans before the Arab invasion and conversion, as well as hypothesized ties to earlier populations seen in some of their cultural traditions.
