normies, in all actuality, are going to keep using such a time-and-effort-consuming app once the novelty of it wears off, especially when those people don't really care that much about the franchise?
People will uninstall the app and unsubscribe from email newsletters en masse once the fad train slows and Pokémon goes back to being considered childish like it was before GO. New content won't save it from that, because it'll stop being "muh nostalgic game" once Gen III or maybe even Gen II roll out.
