unless she's gay, then I'm not sure and to that I say to each their own. Nothing's confirmed either and for now, Poppmaid and gang are as much of a leak as Ballio and friends were. Until the day where it does end up being confirmed, then I won't have anything to say.
I liked Ballio too, but I guess I'm too biased for it. Don't really have much against Mermaidlio, Poppmaid or whatever her name is, some people certainly have waited too long for a elegant Water type starter, it just seems weird they wouldn't have gone for a more ambiguous look.
Just because Ballio looks more masculine, doesn't mean I can't picture its design being also female.
While as for Poppmaid, it just seems harder to envision Poppmaid as male due to how many little details that make the design quite feminine. Trust me, I tried, but it's really quite hard seeing a Poppmaid as male. Despite how feminine some starters look, at least I can still make sense of their designs as males (like Braixen, she really doesn't look that feminine, just look up fennec foxes and their anatomy). Delphox looks like it's just wearing a big fat robe. The Snivy line just so happens to look royal, not really all that feminine either. Chikorita seems ambiguous too, it's more just based on a dinosaur that just so happens to be based on flowers.
