So why are we forced to put up with this winning streak bullshit? Is it just to penalize players who don't play on an emulator?

Winning streaks are a quick, cheap way of adding difficulty. PWT is better because even though the teams are almost all monotype, they are well put together in their own right instead of being random shit from a pool like battle tower teams with a chance for quick claw bullshit at any time
