Thats not how stars work.
Leftover amounts of elements could form a new star, but the heavier elements won't serve any function.

Most stars when they die the usually just sticks around to for a dwarf.

The point is

Starting to make iron

This pokemon is supposed to represent OUR star, not the general concept of them. As such our star has nothing to do with heavier elements, and when It finally does, it will be the end of its life span.
