Biggest problems were just that the Gym and League battles were a fucking joke, and there wasn't a lot of post-game content.

Trainer customization, Based fossilmons, better than average percentage of good mons (because the sample size was smaller), Super Training (More because they let you even see EV's), and Amie. Wondertrade.

Megas as a concept. The actual execution was pretty sloppy.

Also, customization, friend safari, basically anything related to online play was done fairly well.

Oh yes. I was pleasantly surprised that the first gym wasn't just a straight line with side grooves and the ice gym not having a sliding puzzle. Not to mention swinging on vines in Grant's gym.

A few comfy towns
And probably my favorite part of the game was the wide array of Pokemon available in each area. Helped a lot in my process to catch em all.

Oh, and customisation and being able to take photos of yourself and have them automatically uploaded onto the site. Even if the male customisation was pretty bad.

male customization was the one part of the game that really pissed me off.

females had double the amount of clothing and triple the amount of hair styles.

Not really. Most battle themes were fucking atrocious and the game was laughably easy. It did customisation and WiFi well but that's about it

All of the good things that XY did were just quality of life changes to make the core gameplay and getting into PvP better, but kinda failed in other areas.
