I mean horridly bad, it was almost like they were trying to kill the series off.
It had its moments of potential , like the mini tournaments, ash catching multiple pokemon, gym leaders like roxie being insanely strong.
But reverting ash back to WORSE THAN KANTO tier after coming off of Diamond and Pearl was a huge fuck you.
They also gave him horridly boring pokemon, I love Palpitoad, but it should have been seismitoad by the end
Snivy should have been at least servine

I've watched every battle in that series, and I can't say I was happy with any of them beyond Roxies fight.
That match where ash lost , to a dude with 5 pokemon, I mean why did the writers do this?
It was insulting to a long time character, who had beat 2 legendaries in the fucking previous league.
The games were fucking amazing, but the anime is a shit stain that will forever be the worst of the worst.
