It was Day only in Crystal. It showed up at night as well in Gold and Silver.

Did you not collect TCG cards, watch the anime, play Pokemon Stadium 2 or read any strategy guides/Pokemon related book released from 2000-2002?

I mean dont get me wrong, the availability of some of the Gen 2 Pokemon in G/S/C is a fucking joke but you have to be an oblivious retard to not know they were Gen 2 Pokemon. I seem to recall Skarmory bring featured a lot Gen 2 merchandise

Slugma is somewhat understandable but Skarmory only really comes into question if you're playing Gold
Almost a third of the Johto dex is unavailable without trades prior to the E4

In his defense you can't even get sluma until about halfway through the Kanto stuff. Skarmory was fairly common on the route after Blackthorn though so I don't know how they missed that

Pokemon evolution requirements, item locations, how to rematch gym leaders in GCS, all that shit was contained in the strategy guide. This was before we could easily just google shit so having a bevy of information was important.

Nigger I always went for Skarmory in Crystal playthroughs. When my only other Fly options are Pidgeot and Noctowl, a steel robo-bird was by far the best choice.
