Here's hoping it's something like a lobby where players pick from a list and we get to design our own metas, ban certain mons, items, abilities, moves, etc. Then smogon can get btfo
But knowing gamefreak, it's gonna be basic and you'll just have options for different stage and battle music selections

A level restriction.

Smogon still won't do it, because the people who play on Smegma don't actually like playing the game. They just want to push button receive pokemon, and then ragequit when they get out-coinflipped.

I didn't play much either but from what I've heard it wasn't balanced well. Basically the strategy was to stall until you stored up enough power to get the max attack item, bring in a sweeper and then go to town on the opponent.
