How many Pokemon do you usually catch when you first play a Game? Do you catch just 6 for your team? I always catch at least 20 even if they aren't of the new Region

I catch every new Pokemon I encounter. Usually I end up with like 5 boxes of Pokemon or somwthing

I catch literally any pokemon I like/would consider using.
Then as I gradually progress through the game my favourites become clear and I focus on them entirely.
